We had a wonderful experience at Barrocos! The ambience was fun and interesting, the service was great, and the food was TREMENDOUS! I had the paella with octopus and it was delectable. My partner had the cod and it was also first rate. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. A memorable experience.

The food was delicious. It was a good balance of traditional dishes with modern twists without being heavy or dated. Service was attentive and friendly without pretense.

This is a beautiful restaurant in an old world setting! The view of the stone block walls really adds to the ambience! And the location being in Old Montreal is perfect. Menu is decent, it’s a nice assortment of Spanish style traditional French items. They have a nice drink and wine list too. Their BBQ Oysters were really good. Service was great… Friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a nice place to come for a special occasion!

I've been to a few higher end restaurants and I tend to think that a lot of them aren't worth it. I would spend 3x the price to eat the food at Barroco. This restaurant is by far the best in Montreal and there is no question. Every time I've been here I order something new and everything it is top quality and amazing. This time, our waiter Phil talked with us for a while about other restaurants we like and the food here. He even brought me a special birthday shot at the end of the evening to celebrate. Actually goated restaurant. For those who care, out of the meals I've had here (They were all 5/5 so don't stress) 1. The duck (Order this, it is wild the sauce is crazy) 2 - 3. Can't decide between the Paella and the short rib. The paella was so good but the short rib has the best sauce in the world if the place wasn't as nice as it is I would have licked the plate I am not trolling. 4 - And remember this is still delicious, the Veal special. The potato with the truffle was insane I wish I had 10 of them. Side note, the sauce for the oysters took us on a trip we were eating it alone with a spoon because it was so good. Anyways ill be back to taste the other items on the menu soon!

Without question one of the most beautiful old Montreal restaurants. I first went years ago when it opened. The food and service is good but not the top of my list in Montreal. The ambiance is worth it though especially for visitors. It's definitely a scene that is worth checking out.

Great little gem in old Montreal! We sat at the bar which is tight but cozy. Our bartender, Mark, was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. He’s very good at a craft cocktail! The beer tartar was probably the best I’ve ever had! Perfect space for a date night!

We had a reservation for 9pm but ended up waiting at the bar for 45 minutes without any acknowledgment for the wait, which was disappointing. however, the food was excellent—unique, flavorful, and really good. we loved it! the dessert, the crème au chocolat et madeleines, though, was the least impressive part of the meal

Absolutely fantastic! Local ingredients from nearby farms with the most beautiful interior and vibe. Great cocktails too!
